All about AutoTrac Turn Automation
Tired of seeing weeds take off at the end of each pass while driving through your freshly germinated crop? Frustrated by inconsistent turns leading to missed sections and poor paddock performance? You’re not alone. That feeling of helplessness when weeds take control due to a lack of crop competition or when crop is left standing at the end of each row is now a thing of the past with AutoTrac Turn Automation (ATTA).
With ATTA, your turns are handled with precision — improving efficiency, crop coverage, and your peace of mind. Whether you want full machine control, simple turn execution, or integrated speed and implement control, ATTA puts the power in your hands to tailor the system to your operation’s exact needs.
So, how does it work?
Here’s what you need to get started with ATTA:
1. Software Requirements
- You’ll need a 4.0 subscription on Gen 4 CommandCenters or an Advanced license on G5 displays.
2. Accurate Boundaries
- For best results, boundaries should be created using Radio RTK or SF-RTK signals as they are a foundation for success. If you would like our team to complete these contact, your local branch or the PA (Precision Ag) team can assist.
- Boundaries made from past coverage or hand drawn can also work, though not as precisely and will need in cab adjustments made accordingly.
3. Accurate Measurements
- Time to break out the tape measure. Precise machine and implement measurements are critical to prevent serious equipment damage and to ensure optimal turning performance.
4. Dial In Your Turn Settings
- Adjust the timing of the turn start, turn finish, and the turn radius to suit your operation. This step takes time — but it’s worth it.
5. Add Equipment & Speed Control
- Once your turn behaviour is optimized, integrate implement control and speed control to further enhance automation and efficiency.
With AutoTrac Turn Automation, you don’t just make turns — you make smarter, more consistent, and more profitable decisions every pass. Ready to take control? Reach out to your local branch or PA team to get started today.
