Parts Sales or Workshop Interpreter

Position Specifics:

Department: Parts
Reports to: Branch Parts Manager
Supervises: None
H&P Level: 6 (qualified) – 7 (qualified & experienced)
Award level: 4 (inexperienced) – 5 (experienced)

Purpose:

Responsible for selling, receiving and delivering parts, merchandise and attachments. Performs in-store customer service, overall organisational promotion, and stocking duties.

Responsibilities:
  • Promotes and sells products and/or services to meet customer needs
  • May supply Service Technicians with parts as required when no Workshop Parts Interpreter role
  • As Service Interpreter, facilitate all parts requirements on behalf of the Service Workshop
  • Researches and interprets parts requirements for customers and Service department
  • Places Machine Down and Stock Orders
  • Verifies receipting-in of shipments and assists with delivery to proper inventory locations
  • Assists with preparing and maintaining merchandise displays
  • Assists in keeping parts department safe, clean and orderly
  • Follows up on back orders and shortages, advancing issues by reporting to the manager
  • Maintains current product knowledge and awareness of Agricultural trends
  • Participates in Parts Sales Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
  • May run, analyse and distribute reports
  • Facilitates inter-branch transfers of stock
  • Develops and/or facilitates marketing programs for seasonal product promotions to customer base
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
  • Good data entry/keyboarding skills with keen problem solving skills
  • Good parts and machinery knowledge. Agricultural industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Ability to work extended hours or on call during peak periods, and rotating Saturdays if open.
  • Fork lift licence preferred

Parts ManagerParts Manager assits a Parts Interpreter to source teh right part for a customer order

Position Specifics:

Supervises:  Parts Sales & Service Interpreters & Trainees
H&P Level:  8-9

Purpose:

Responsible for parts operations within the branch to provide the highest level of external and internal customer satisfaction while maximizing return on investment through parts sales, inventory control, and expense control. Optimises the Part’s department processes.

Responsibilities:
  • Executes, communicates and monitors best practice Parts Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Works with the Group Parts Manager to develop and follow attainable and measurable parts sales and profit goals compatible with overall dealership financial and operational objectives
  • Promotes parts, merchandise and attachments in conjunction with other store locations
  • Assists with counter sales to support customer needs
  • Manages all customer support issues and provides solutions to exceed customer expectations
  • Maintains an accurate and effective parts inventory control system that includes a perpetual and/or annual physical inventory and proper counter procedures
  • Facilitates Quality Control processes
  • Ensures all parts warranty and return claims are processed within the required time frame to receive maximum credit
  • Maximises use of all order discount programs to achieve management stock order goals
  • Ensures all department tools, equipment and vehicles are in good working order
  • Assists with recruiting and staffing activities for employees reporting to this position
  • Facilitates the development and training of parts personnel and completes performance reviews of parts interpreters
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
  • 1+ years experience in Parts Department operations
  • Strong ability to use Microsoft software applications, John Deere tools and the internet.
  • Ability to communicate and lead effectively to individuals and groups
  • Basic understanding of financial principles relative to Parts Department operations
  • Ability to analyse and interpret internal reports
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends and on call
  • Excellent customer service skills
